Man suffers burns after fire in Medway Street in Maidstone

A man has suffered burns to his face and hands after a building fire.

Firefighters were called at 12.16pm to a report of a fire in Medway Street, Maidstone.

Two fire engines attended and crews administered first aid to a man with burns.

The person was then passed into the care of paramedics.

Firefighters used hose reel jets to cool the affected area and make the scene safe.

It is believed the fire started accidentally and has been linked to a ruptured gas main.

The stop time of the incident was 2.28pm.
