A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after an incident in Maidstone town centre.
Three police cars, a police van and officers on foot were seen near the Market Buildings in the county town at around 2pm yesterday.
Darren Wayne Turpin, of no fixed abode, was charged with four counts of assaulting a constable and is due to appear in Maidstone Magistrates Court today.
