Maidstone face two games in quick succession against teams trying to overhaul their Ryman League, Division 1 South play-off position.

The fifth-placed Stones travel to eighth-placed Godalming on Saturday and host sixth-placed Worthing on Wednesday, with boss Jay Saunders having introduced some new faces recently.

Defender Lee Gledhill has been released, with Sam Groombridge (pictured) taking his spot at centre-back, while youth team prospect Ash Greenwood made an impact in the 4-0 New Year’s Eve win against Whitstable.

After three straight league wins, Saunders was waiting to finalise his squad for the trip to Surrey.

He said: "We don’t have any injuries or suspensions. I’m just waiting to find out who we have available.

"Godalming are one of the best sides we’ve played. They are hard-working and like to play football. It is going to be a tough game."
