Maidstone must cope with an injury crisis ahead of their return to Ryman League action at Homelands against Kingstonian on Saturday.

It will be the Stones’ first home Premier Division game since September 22 but they will be without seven first-teamers and could even feature joint-boss Lloyd Hume on the bench.

Midfielder Peter Hawkins is suspended, James Peacock (pictured right) is expected to be out for two weeks after damaging ankle ligaments, Ashley Ulph could miss two weeks after tweaking knee ligaments, while Ant Bodle broke his nose in a college game this week and could be out for a fortnight.

Continuing the tale of woe, left-back Jermaine Darlington is suffering from flu, midfielder Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw could miss three weeks with ankle ligament damage, while Roland Edge is still sidelined with a calf injury.

Hume said: "It will be a makeshift team and we will be up against it, that’s for sure. But we went to Ashford with a makeshift team and won 2-0 so we’re full of confidence.

"If the youngsters who come in can continue stepping up as they have done then we can get a result."

One player who is likely to feature is Gabriel Odunaike, the former Welling striker currently on trial with Gillingham, who made his debut as a substitute in Saturday’s 2-0 FA Trophy second qualifying round win at Bognor – the Stones’ third win on the spin.

They now face a trip to Blue Square South promotion-chasers Bromley in the next round on November 21.
