IT has taken 12 years and more than 50,000 miles for one football fanatic to achieve his ambition to visit and photograph all 2,457 football grounds in England.

To the less dedicated it may seem like a barmy task, but Scott Poleykett, 22, set himself the mighty challenge at the age of just 10 when he saw and photographed the old Wembley Stadium.

He said: "After that first one I found a book with about 1,000 grounds in it and said I wanted to see them all."

To start with, Scott, of Chamberlain Avenue, Maidstone, would drag his dad, mum and nan on his ground-spotting adventures.

He finally achieved his ambition by visiting Scarborough. For the full story see this week's Kent Messenger.
