Romanian lorry driver charged over death of Maidstone motorcyclist on M25 near Dartford Crossing

A female Romanian lorry driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist from the Maidstone area died in a crash on the M25.

The biker, in his 50s, died after the smash between junctions 30 for the A13 and 31 for West Thurrock, on the Essex side of the Dartford Crossing, just before 6am on Friday (September 18).

Stana Caltun, 35, from Romania, appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Saturday) and has been remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, November 23.

The motorway was closed for more than six hours while officers investigated the cause of the collision.
