Live Lounge with Magee, a new music night at The Beeches restaurant in Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth, begins this Thursday.

Run by Maidstone-based singer Andrea Magee and guitarist Gary Lucas, the free evening runs from 7.30pm-9.30pm and will feature performances from a variety of local musicians.

It follows the success of Magee's open mic nights on alternate Sundays at the Lobster Pot in West Malling and the Green Man in Hodsoll Street.

Meanwhile the growth of the live music scene continues in Maidstone with the success of new High Street venue The Rafters.

The venue has been drawing new bands and fans since it opened full time earlier this year. Read more in this week's Kent Messenger.
