Lashings boss begins long period of recuperation

LASHINGS Cricket Club chairman David Folb is recuperating at his home in Maidstone after a successful eight-hour operation to treat stomach cancer.

Mr Folb, who is temporarily confined to a wheelchair, said: "This has really messed up my life but it’s a lot better than the alternative."

Mr Folb was first diagnosed with cancer in early 2006. After an operation, he was given the all-clear but the condition returned with a vengeance in the autumn.
