Julian Lloyd Webber to play at castle

Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber is to perform a recital for just 100 people at Leeds Castle, near Maidstone.

The performance, on August 5,includes Bach's Adagio in G, Britten's Scherzo-Pizzicato, The Swan by Saint Saens and Debussy's Sonata (1915).

He will also premiere a specially commissioned piece from former Classic FM

composer in residence, Patrick Hawes, on the Barjanski

Stradivarius cello.

The recital is part of

Leeds Castle's Arts at the Castle summer concerts which include a performance by Italian pianist, Adolfo Barabino, on August 6, Bizet's Carmen on August 30 and a Family Prom with the Briish Philharmonic Orchestra on August 31.
