The Red Arrows are coming, they said.

And villagers were certainly treated to a synchronised display of dare-devil piloting when Wrotham held its Christmas Fayre on Saturday.

But they weren't expecting the sight of the Red Barrows hurtling through the village at the control panels (handles) of their painted wheelbarrows.

It was all part of the fun at an event which always promises something a little different to what it delivers.

Last year a "synchronised swimming display" involved a group of men "swimming" in what appeared to be a modified bouncy castle.
