Man jailed after flashing and assaulting nurse at Maidstone Hospital

A hospital flasher who exposed himself to a nurse and assaulted her has been jailed.

John Abbotts, 59, admitted flashing a member of staff while he was at Maidstone Hospital on Sunday, November 20.

Abbotts, of no fixed address, also damaged a screen at site in Hermitage Lane, Maidstone.

Police were called to the hospital and arrested him.

He was later further arrested after reports he had been abusive to people in the town centre.

He was charged with indecent exposure, assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage at the hospital, criminal damage to a police vehicle and four public order offences.

After pleading guilty at Medway Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 24, he was sentenced to 36 weeks imprisonment at Maidstone Crown Court yesterday.

Abbotts was sentenced 20 weeks for breach of a criminal behaviour order and 16 weeks for assault.
