There aren’t many things that prompt a grown man to don a mankini in public, but a charity close to Gordon Trevillion’s heart has.
Mr Trevillion has already been growing a moustache for the month-long Movember, which encourages men to grow taches to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancer initiatives, but he now plans to wear a mankini while walking through Maidstone town centre for the cause.
The 50-year-old jeweller with Mr T’s in Gabriels Hill, Maidstone, will brave the chilly November air in the unflattering mankini – plus a top hat and cane – on Saturday morning and walk along Week Street and down Gabriels Hill.
His son Lewis, who lives in Gloucester, recently had to have a testicle removed, after being diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of just 25.
Mr Trevillion said: “I have never worn a mankini before – I will have to go out and buy one. I will be doing my usual walk to work, just in a mankini with a top hat and a cane.”
