Police are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old girl was mugged in Paddock Wood.

The girl was walking through an estate on Transfesa Road between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday, October 19, towards the station when she was approached from behind and felt what she believed to be a male's right arm come across her shoulder and grab her.

She was pulled backwards and was immediately aware of the attacker's left hand coming across from her other side with a glass bottle in hand. She felt it smash against her face and she fell to the floor. The offender then stole her purse that fell to the ground in the attack.
She received a cut to the bridge of her nose and had to go to hospital for treatment.
DC Stuart Cook said: "Due to the suddenness of this attack the victim in unable to describe her attacker in any way, and it's not known which direction he/she fled in."
