Three men were arrested on suspicion of theft after a drive-by police check saw a group running from a lorry parked at a motorway services.

Officers drove past the stopping area at junction 8 of the M20 near Maidstone last Thursday looking for suspicious activity.

It was reported that, at 2am, a group of people were seen running from a parked lorry with three men detained a short distance away on suspicion of theft.

Two vehicles linked to the suspects were also seized with one containing items believed to have been stolen.

Those arrested were aged 24, 32, and 33 and were released on bail until October.
