Twoold school friends are appealing for former classmates to get in touch for a reunion to celebrate reaching the age of 60.

Trish Freeman from Lenham and Elaine Ruck from Vinters Park, Maidstone, are looking for anyone who left the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Boxley Road, Maidstone, between 1963 and 1965.

They have already found 27 of the 40 ex-pupils, and are now hoping to find as many of the others as possible. All of them will either have turned 60 or be coming up to that milestone.

The reunion will be held in the Orchard Room at the Russell Hotel, Maidstone on Saturday, November 15, starting at midday with lunch, followed by afternoon tea at 3.30pm.

The hotel has been chosen as the venue for the reunion because it is the former site of the school. The building was converted into a hotel in the 1970s.

Miss Freeman said: “Back then people would have known me as Patricia and Elaine as Elaine Barker.

“We are hoping to find Valerie Banks, Zoe Harwood, Jacqueline Percy, Ann Ducker, Michelle Mink and Frances Page to name but a few.

“We would love to see all of the old girls if they can make it, so please call us if you can.”

Miss Freeman said she had many fond memories of her time at the school, including making tissue paper flowers for the annual Japanese garden party thrown for the parents.

Anyone wishing to attend should contact her for a booking form and menu choice on 01622 850173.
