Free range farming struggle

Celebrity chefs have got us all behind the free range message, but is it possible to make a living while giving livestock the happiest time possible?

Sutton Valence farmer Liz Offen says she faces a struggle to survive due to rising costs.

The farm, which has been in the family for generations, has more than 40 cockerels and chickens rooting happily around the farmyard and dozens of pigs.

Now Liz fears she may not be able to keep her animals.

“Living like this is to the benefit of the food, to the wildlife and environment, but so many farms have gone under,” she says, " but I don’t know how much longer I can do this.”
