Fourth place not enough to gain promotion for Medway and Maidstone AC

Medway and Maidstone Athletic Club entered the National Junior League Southern promotion match at Copthall Barnet Stadium with their strongest team of the season and finished fourth.

Despite beating the Medway division champions Tonbridge AC for the first time this season – by 51 points – neither club managed to qualify for promotion to the Southern Premier Division for 2010.

Jodie Shaw was third in the javelin with a pb of 33.24 metres. She was second in the long jump (5.19) and third in the 100m hurdles (16.7).

James Alcock found his form again with victory by one centimetre in the long jump (6.39), supported by Josh Brown who won the B (6.19).
