Tonbridge Angels are facing a hectic spell of matches as Tommy Warrilow’s side make up for their month-long lack of league activity.

The Angels’ last match in Blue Square Bet South was their 5-1 home win over Eastbourne Borough on January 21 before bad weather intervened.

Saturday's home game with Weston-super-Mare will be the first of nine in 32 days. Warrilow, pictured, said: “The games will start coming thick and fast now but I’ve said to the players at least it will help them to regain their match fitness sooner rather than later.

“We’ve only had three league games since the start of the year and and so we may be a little rusty, but everyone else is going to be in the same boat.”

Weston-super-Mare are enjoying a good season and are just one place outside the play-off positions. “They are doing very nicely," said Warrilow, "but if we win on Saturday and then win our game in hand we will only be three points behind them.

“I think the next month or so will decide what a lot of clubs end up achieving this season and I think we are in that category.”

One of the bonuses of his side’s lack of matches is that, apart from Ade Olorunda who needs a knee operation, Warrilow has a full squad to choose from.

However, one player who unfortunately has played his last game at Longmead is defender Scott Gooding, who has been forced to retire at the age of 30 because of a recurring knee injury.
