The Duchess of Gloucester unveiled a plaque to mark the culmination of the charity's £286,000 refurbishment which recognises the importance of the building's surroundings in helping families through some of the most difficult days of their lives.

The hospice, opened in 1991 by Princess Diana, has undergone a full refurbishment to mainly its inpatient unit but also other general improvements to day facilities and visitor accommodation, thanks to a grant from the Department of Health.
