Driver airlifted to hospital after crash in Platts Heath

A man had to be airlifted to hospital after a one-car crash in Platts Heath near Maidstone this morning.

The red Ford Fiesta came to rest on its roof following the smash in Lenham Road at 7.40am.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to cut the 23-year-old driver free from the wreckage.

He was taken by the Kent Air Ambulance to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with suspected abdominal injuries.
