A troupe of dancers is gearing up for the performance of their lives as they face the nation and Simon Cowell in tonight's live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent.

The dancers from the Mandy Ellen School of Dance in Maidstone found out on Saturday they would be competing in tonight's live show, which starts at 8.30pm on ITV1.

The 39 dancers, aged between 10 and 25, are first on the bill and up against seven other acts to try and win one of two spots in the final this Saturday.

The first two acts to make it through to Saturday final were chosen last night.

Signature made it through on public vote and dancing dog act Kate and Gin were the Judges’ choice.

After thousands of hopefuls auditioned, it’s all down to final 40 acts to battle it out for a place in Saturday night’s grand final and the chance take home £100,000 prize money and a coveted slot on this year’s Royal Variety Performance Show.
