Drivers faced long delays this evening after a crash closed part of the M20.

One vehicle was involved in the accident on the coast-bound carriageway at 4.27pm.

It happened between junction 8 for Leeds Castle and the Maidstone services and junction 9 for the A20 heading towards Ashford and Faversham.

The motorway was completely closed for a time but reopened at around 5.30pm.

Kent Police say the people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
