Crash baby transferred to special unit

A BABY girl who remains critically ill after being involved in a road accident in Yalding on Monday has been transferred to a London hospital for treatment.

The one-year-old girl, who suffered serious injuries in the accident involving two cars in Hampstead Lane has been transferred to Guys Hospital in London where her condition was described as critical but stable.

Her mother, who was also badly injured and suffered internal injuries in the accident, has been transferred to King’s Hospital in London. Her condition was described as stable.

Both had been airlifted to Maidstone Hospital by Kent Air Ambulance after the accident which happened at just after noon near to the junction with Lees Road.

The baby’s father and two other children who were in the car, aged two and three, all suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries in the collision, which involved two green Vauxhall Vectras.
