Commuters faced difficult journeys into work this morning with major disruption and cancellations on the rail network.

Southeastern warned trains were running up to 50 minutes late between Ramsgate and Charing Cross as well as Blackfriars and Sevenoaks.

Trains were having to run at reduced speeds on all lines because of "poor rail conditions" around Sevenoaks.

Some services were cancelled or diverted during the morning rush-hour.

London Underground was accepting tickets and replacement buses were running between Sevenoaks and Orpington.

Problems were expected until around 10am.

Meanwhile, Southern trains were suspended between Tonbridge and Redhill this morning because of poor weather conditions at Edenbridge.
