You have the chance to collar local police about issues in Maidstone town centre twice in the coming weeks.

The sessions to talk to officers are held every two weeks in Jubilee Square at the top of the High Street. The next two will be held on Wednesday, September 19 and Wednesday, October 3, between noon and 2pm and are an opportunity for members of the public to speak to their local officers.
In addition to the sessions, police in the town centre are now patrolling in fluorescent uniform to make themselves more visible.
They are wearing high-visibility ‘load vests’ so they are easy to spot when on patrol.
Insp Mark Hutcheon, who oversees the town centre policing, said: “Members of the public like their police officers to be visible, and this uniform helps with that greatly.

"For residents, retailers and visitors to Maidstone it is reassuring to see police officers on foot patrol providing a high-visibility presence in a busy town centre. Maidstone continues to be a safe place and that is the message we want to give to people who visit, shop and socialise in the town.”
