Car vandals target single street

POLICE are appealing for information about a number of cars being were damaged on a road in a town centre.

Since August, a number of motorists on Kingsley Road, Maidstone, have reportedly found their vehicles damaged with a number of wing mirrors being broken and trims being bent.

On Thursday, August 24, it was reported that a wing mirror had been smashed on a Renault Clio, causing around £100 worth of damage. The owner states that this was the fourth time he had replaced the wing mirror.

PC Billy Marley, who is investigating the claims of damage said: “These kinds of incidents are very frustrating for local residents and it can be very inconvenient when you depend on your vehicle to go about your daily life.

"A lot of the time, wing mirrors have been found damaged on the pavement side and we can therefore safely assume that another motorist is not causing this.

"I would encourage anyone else who has found their vehicle damaged to report it to us and also ask people to come forward if they know of anyone causing wanton damage to vehicles, anywhere in the local area”.

Anyone who may have any further information is asked to contact Maidstone police station on 01622 604180. Alternatively you can call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
