A suspected burglar found hiding inside a garden shed has been arrested following a raid on a house in Maidstone.

Officers attended an address in Bower Mount Road at around 4.10 this morning, following reports a flashlight had been seen shining inside a property.

Witnesses reported seeing a number of forensic officers at the scene throughout the morning.

Officers discovered a rear door to the house had been forced open and a search of the address then led to the discovery of a suspect, reported to have been hiding inside a garden shed.

The man, aged 35 and from the Maidstone area, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and currently remains in custody.
