People are warned to beware of bogus callers operating after a woman was duped into giving money.

Police issued the warning in light of a reported theft in Woollett Street, Maidstone.

On Wednesday, August 8, a woman knocked on her victim's door and asked to borrow cash.

The caller said she would return the loan later that day but failed to return.

A similar incident is said to have taken place in Coxheath.

Officers have released descriptions of two women they want to speak to in connection with the offences.

One of the suspects is white with brown shoulder-length hair and in her mid-30s. She was wearing glasses and a bright maxi dress.

The other woman is white and around the same age. She has very long brown hair and is of a medium build. She was wearing a brown coast and glasses.

If anyone has information they are asked to call PC Ian Price on 101.
