The raid happened in Sittingbourne but culminated in a dramatic
police chase through Maidstone, which saw the men arrested in
Holland Road.

Maidstone Crown Court heard how the armed robbers had arrived at
K&S Racing motorcycle shop in Milton Road, Sittingbourne, at
around 10.45am on Tuesday October 14, 2008 and grabbed stock
and threatened
staff.

As they left the scene, shop staff quickly raised the alarm.

A police officer managed to catch up with the getaway van on the
Staplehurst Link road and pursue it along the A249 towards
Maidstone.

The officer was joined by other patrols and dedicated traffic
officers.

Following two stinger deployments, the vehicle was stopped in
Sittingbourne Road near the Chiltern Hundreds roundabout, Maidstone
where the raiders were arrested.

Stolen motorcycles with a value of £17,000 were found in the
rear of the van.
