YouTube video of Adolf Hitler ranting about Maidstone's traffic

A spoof video of Adolf Hitler ranting about traffic in Maidstone has appeared on YouTube.

The three-minute clip follows the same format as other humorous takes on a scene from 2004 film Downfall which charts the German dictator's last days in his Berlin bunker.

In 'Hitler's Rant at Maidstone' the Nazi leader loses his rag when advisers tell him the revamped gyratory system will shave not hours but 74 seconds off people's journeys.

He goes on to berate congestion in other parts of the town, saying: "**** me sideways, 74 poxy seconds, it already takes five hours to drive along Palace Avenue, four hours heading up Stone Street and eight hours across the Broadway.

"Do you know what time the ice cream van turns up in Park Wood? Half past two in the morning, he doesn't reach Tovil until gone 4am."

Hitler says Maidstone Borough Council wants to build 10 million homes. This is not the case and the real target is 18,560 by 2031.

The gyratory works, which are due to end next Thursday, will create a new lane heading towards Chatham from College Road, meaning motorists will not have to navigate the bridges.

The £5.7m, five-month scheme will save drivers 74 seconds.
