Accident outside Maidstone

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after being involved in a collision with a van.

The accident happened near the Running Horse roundabout on the A229 this morning at about 7am.

Police closed the road between Sandling Lane and the roundabout, causing rush-hour traffic delays.

There were also delays on Rocky Hill, outside the Broadway shopping centre, in Maidstone, when a taxi caught fire.
