Police charge Maidstone 18-year-old Elger Sykaj with possession of drugs, aggravated burglary, and fraud after arrest in Brenchley Gardens

Police have charged an 18-year-old with three offences after he was originally arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.

Elger Sykaj, of Coombe Road, Maidstone, was detained by officers in Brenchley Gardens on Thursday, October 27.

He has since been charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply, and has been released on bail.

He will appear before Maidstone magistrates on Friday, December 23.

The 18-year-old has also been charged with two unrelated offences of aggravated burglary relating to an alleged incident in Kent Road, Gravesend, on August 21, and fraud by false representation relating to an alleged offence also in Gravesend on the same day.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 28 for these two charges.

He was remanded in custody following the hearing to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, November 18.
