Youga could lose out against Watford

Charlton v Watford

KELLY YOUGA'S position in Charlton's side at home to leaders Watford on Saturday is under threat.

Knowing the left-back is unavailable for the following week's match at Blackpool after a fifth caution in Tuesday's goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday, manager Alan Pardew could recall Grant Basey or Chris Powell to the left-back slot.

Fearing Youga could be sent off following a second warning by referee Keith Stroud, the Addicks boss was forced to withdraw him just before half-time.

Pardew made known his feelings by ignoring Youga as he walked past him.

Pardew said: "Unfortunately, that indiscipline affected the balance of the team because we didn't have another left-footer on the bench. Jose Semedo put in an honest shift as an emergency left-back but we missed Kelly in the second half."

Pardew is hoping central defender Madjid Bougherra recovers from the foot injury that kept him out of Tuesday's side while midfielder Lee Cook, who made his Charlton debut as a 66th minute substitute on Tuesday, is in line for a home debut following his signing on loan for the rest of the season from Premier League Fulham.
