Welling United v Newport County

MANAGER Adrian Pennock believes victory over Newport County on Saturday will confirm Welling’s play-off aspirations.

The Wings, who went second in Conference South with a 3-0 victory at home to Bognor on Tuesday night, will have their work cut out against big-spending Newport.

But Pennock claimed that three points will be a major achievement.

"It would be a major scalp if we can get something from them," said Pennock.

"I think we’re more than capable, there’s a great team spirit within the camp and the fans are really getting behind us at home now."
