Wings defender set for League move

Craig Braham-Barrett is set to join League 1 Peterborough after a successful week-long trial.

The Welling left-back played for Peterborough reserves this week and is expected to tie up a deal before the weekend.

The 20-year-old, who signed for Welling during the summer, has attracted plenty of admirers during the start of the season with league scouts flocking to Park View Road.

Nottingham Forest were linked with a move but Braham-Barrett played for Peterborough against Watford reserves on Wednesday.

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "We have had Craig watched in the last four or five weeks and have received good reports back.

"We knew we had to move fast because Forest are interested and other clubs are as well.

"Welling were good enough to allow him to play in the reserves and he did very well, so there is a good chance we will do something with him.

"We will hopefully be able to get Craig in and improve him just as we have done with other young players."

The Wings will receive a transfer fee for the defender, who had a clause in his contract that entitled him to leave Park View Road should an offer be reached.
