Welling v Weymouth

Welling will look to cause an FA Trophy upset when they host Weymouth in the first round on Saturday.

Defender Lee Protheroe believes the Wings can bounce back from last weekend's Blue Square South defeat to leaders Chelmsford by knocking out their higher division visitors.

"We need to take our chances and keep our heads on what we need to do," said Protheroe.

"We want to do the best we can in the Trophy. Weymouth won't come here thinking that because they are in the Conference and full-time that they can ease through.

"If we play like we did last Saturday then we should do okay."

Protheroe knows how good a FA Trophy run can be for a non-league club and is keen to see the Wings go as far as they can in the competition.

"The trophy is all about luck of the draw," he added. "If you can get a good home draw then it can help you go a long way.

"I was lucky enough to be involved in a Trophy final with Canvey about six years ago, I didn't play in the final but I was part of the squad and it is a good experience."

Welling welcome back defender Matthew McEntegart from suspension but Jack Parkinson is ruled out so club captain Rob Quinn looks set to return to the starting line-up.
