Weather ruins Wings' chance to go top

WELLING United's match at Newport County was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Weather conditions over the last few days have been dreadful and the match was postponed after a pitch inspection at 8am on Saturday.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be announced.

Wings had the chance to go clear at the top with leaders St Albans City not in action.

Dover Athletic's Ryman League Division 1 clash against Kingstonian at Crabble was also a victim of the wet conditions.

However, fans were left disappointed after the game was not postponed until just 15 minutes before kick-off after two earlier pitch inspections had deemed the surface playable.
