KENT League promotion chasers Whitstable Town have signed experienced campaigner Jimmy Strouts.

The 35-year-old former Gravesend, Dover and Sittingbourne midfielder, who was released by Maidstone United earlier this month, is likely to make his debut in the top of the table clash at VCD on Saturday.

Whitstable boss Marc Seager, a former team-mate of Strouts, said: "I am delighted that Jimmy has decided to join us.

"His signing is a big boost for everyone at the club and shows how ambitious we are."

He added: "I am always looking to improve the squad, and I believe Jimmy's arrival is the missing piece in the jigsaw.

"The experience and professionalism he will bring to my young side will prove vital in our quest to gain promotion and also bring some silverware to The Belmont."
