Tuesday's local football action

WHILE Gillingham battle against Oxford in the first round of the Carling Cup at Priestfield, Margate will try to build on their winning start to the Ryman League Premier Division season at Staines.

In the same division, Bromley, who conceded an equaliser deep into stoppage time at the weekend, travel to Walton & Hersham.

All five Kent teams in Ryman League Division 1 are also in action tonight.

Ashford Town are at home to Whyteleafe at Homelands, while Cray Wanderers entertain Metropolitan Police and Ramsgate host Tooting & Mitcham United.

Dover Athletic and Tonbridge Angels travel to Horsham and Banstead Athletic respectively.

Meanwhile, Folkestone were denied the opportunity to make amends for their 4-1 defeat against AFC Wimbledon at the weekend last night.

Their home match against Billericay Town was abandoned after 45 minutes due to a floodlight failure at the Buzzlines Stadium.
