Trophy replay joy for Margate

Margate 2 Dorchester 0

TWO second-half goals carried the Gate to victory in their FA Trophy third round replay against Dorchester at Ashford's Homelands on Tuesday night.

Jean Michel Sigere went closest to a goal before the break when he hit the crossbar but it was seven minutes into the second period before the breakthrough came.

Jay Saunders laid the ball through to Adrian Clarke who worked the ball onto his left foot before curling a shot past Dorchester keeper Mark Ormerod.

The visitors then lost Carl Poore with a suspected broken leg following a challenge with midfielder Saunders who added the decisive second goal five minutes from time when he chipped the keeper.

The Gate now face Unibond League side Worksop Town at The Hoverspeed Stadium, Dover, on Saturday January 31.
