CHARLTON midfielder Jerome Thomas is set to become the first casualty as manager Alan Pardew looks to wheel and deal in the January transfer window in an effort to raise funds for team strengthening.

The 23-year-old England Under-21 international is on the verge of a £1 million move to Fulham, though Portsmouth have also expressed an interest.

Former Liverpool left-back Djimi Traore could also be leaving The Valley for Portsmouth in another £1 million deal while Charlton central defender Souleymane Diawara may be used in a loan swap that would see Pompey defender Andy O'Brien moving in the opposite direction.

Championship club Stoke are also in the market for O'Brien who recently returned to Fratton Park after a successful spell on loan at the Britannia Stadium.

The Addicks are also considering a loan move for Sevilla's Spain Under-21 international striker Kepa Blanco, who has scored 12 goals in 41 games in La Liga, while speculation persists that veteran West Ham striker Teddy Sheringham could soon be reunited with Pardew at Charlton.
