Striker Stadhart moves over to Margate

NEW Margate striker Che Stadhart is looking forward to a fresh challenge after becoming the club's second summer signing this week.

Stadhart was Gravesend's leading goalscorer for the past two seasons but parted company with the club during the summer.

He said: "I wanted to stay in the Conference and Margate look like a club that is on the up.

"They finished eighth and 10th in the last two years which is a great achievement for a part-time side in that league.

"Although I was released by Gravesend I feel I have made a step up and that the ambitions of the clubs are slightly different.

"Every season you want to improve so hopefully we can finish higher in the table and perhaps look towards the play-offs."

Stadhart, part of Fleet's Ryman League championship winning team two seasons ago, felt it was time for him to move clubs after four campaigns with Gravesend.

"You know when it is time to move on," he said. "I enjoyed my football there but needed a change.

"Hopefully, my goals will help the team, but there is more to my game than just scoring and perhaps I can bring something different to the side."
