GILLINGHAM have boosted their striking options by re-signing Gary Mulligan on loan from Sheffield United.

The Ireland under-21 international originally joined the Gills in January but his first spell at Priestfield was ruined by an ankle injury he picked up during the 2-0 defeat at Doncaster on February 18.

But he has responded well to treatment and has agreed to return to Gillingham for another month.

Jepson had made clear his intention to bring Mulligan back. He said: "He’s the type of player we want. He has skill in abundance, an unbelievable work ethic and great attitude.

"He’s raw but when a player is as willing to learn as he is, it makes it easier."
