GILLINGHAM midfielder Craig Stone has joined League 2 side Brentford on a month’s loan.

Stone started three games under Mark Stimson but has moved to the Bees in search of first team football.

Stimson said: “It will be an excellent chance for the lad to gain more experience and then hopefully come back to us an improved player.

“I said when I first came to the club that I thought he had talent, but we have midfielders here that are above him at the moment so it’s good that he will be able to get out there and get some matches under his belt.”
