MARK STIMSON, the man widely tipped to take over as manager of Gillingham, has expressed his interest in the vacant Lincoln job.

Stimson, who has also been linked with Millwall and Port Vale, quit as Stevenage boss last week in a move which was thought to pave the way for him to move to Priestfield.

But he told the Lincolnshire Echo: "Lincoln seem to be a good, progressive club and whenever I've seen them, they've played good football.

"If Lincoln came calling, of course I'd listen.

"It's not just about managing at the highest level, it has to be the right club for me."
