Gillingham were unable to add to their squad as the transfer deadline passed last Thursday but manager Mark Stimson is already looking ahead to January.

The Gills boss is keen to add more pace to his side and will be searching around between now and January, when the transfer window re-opens, in a bid to bolster his attacking options.

“Most top sides have got three or four players with this genuine pace and that’s something we need to add in January, if we are to add anything,” he said.

Stimson’s only fit out-and-out winger is Albert Jarrett. Dennis Oli is currently recovering from injury and his other options on the wing have been Nicky Southall and on-loan Andy Barcham.

“We have a couple of players who can play in a few positions and I’m sure everyone will be needed in the next month until the transfer window is back open,” said Stimson.
