Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has quashed speculation he is chasing Southend striker Ritchie Foran, but says he is still chasing a striker.

He said:"I can deny we are interested in Foran, I thought he was a left winger anyway, and he is definitely not a target.

"We are still speaking to a League 1 player, and putting something to him, but it's gone a bit stale at the moment because his team have missed out on a striker.

"I will be speaking to the chairman, and maybe using the cash saved on Delroy Facey leaving the club to bring in other players."

Stimson also confirmed he has ended his interest in Nigerian defender Bobsam Elejiko.

Winger Tyrone Berry is still training with the Gills, and they could offer him a short-term deal.
