Kent will give late fitness tests to all-rounder Ryan McLaren and Azhar Mahmood ahead of Sunday's fifth Friends Provident Trophy qualifier against Sussex in Canterbury.

The tie represents the third match between these two neighbouring counties inside three weeks - and Spitfires remain unbeaten after the first two meetings in championship and Trophy.

The hosts will definitely be without skipper Rob Key, who is on England Lions duty against New Zealand, but they also have doubts over McLaren (bruised quad muscle) and Azhar Mahmood (dislocated finger)

The Sharks are also hampered by injury and will miss wrist spinner Mushtaq Ahmed, who has undergone knee surgery, as well as keeper Matt Prior and all-rounder Luke Wright, who are also appearing for the Lions at The Rose Bowl.

The action at St Lawrence is scheduled for a noon start.

Kent from: Van Jaarsveld, Denly, Walker, Stevens, Dexter, Tredwell, Kemp, Jones, McLaren, Arafat, Mahmood, Joseph, Saggers, Dexter, Cook.
