Southern League Division 1 East preview

SITTINGBOURNE go into Saturday's Southern League Division 1 East at Aveley boosted by the news that the club have clinched a shirt sponsorship deal.

The deal, agreed for the remainder of the season, is with online stamp collecting agency GB Approvals.

Club spokesman Peter Pitts said: "Sponsorship is the lifeblood of any club at all levels and we are extremely grateful to GB Approvals for their involvement. We are sure the arrangement will prove fruitful to both parties."

Jessica Lewis, GB Approvals’ company secretary, added: "Behind the scenes we have worked to ensure the deal will be of benefit to both the club and ourselves.

"Our company website will feature Sittingbourne in the near future and we’re looking forward to a good relationship."

Chatham's leading scorer Brendan Cass, who missed the 2-2 draw against Wivenhoe with an ankle injury, is expected to return to the side to face Enfield.

Chats are bidding to complete a home and away double over Saturday's opponents having beaten them 3-0 in August.

Definitely missing will be defender Andy Larkin who starts a three-match suspension.

Boss Steve Binks will step up his efforts to sign Herne Bay striker Luke Harvey at the weekend.

Chats' need for more firepower has increased as youngster Rob Denness struggles to overcome a fractured wrist ahead of the match.

Binks said: "I know Luke from his days with Chatham's youth team so I'm hoping to persuade him to join us. I'm meeting him at the weekend and I'll know what our chances are after that.

"Rob (Denness) was in the wars against Wivenhoe and took quite a battering. I hope he'll be fit to play at Enfield."

Meanwhile, Dartford will be hoping to build on their impressive victory over Ryman League Premier Division Margate in the FA Trophy at Great Wakering Rovers.
