ENGLAND and West Ham footballer Lee Bowyer has spent two days at Mid Kent Fisheries in Chilham, near Canterbury, filming a programme on angling for Sky TV.

Chris Logsdon, manager of Mid Kent Fisheries, said: “He only caught a pike, but he thoroughly enjoyed his time here and said he wanted to come back."

He added: "He signed a lot of autographs for other people fishing at the weekend. He is a bit of a carp fanatic and said he was shortly off to France to do some more.

“Sky have used our fishery for programming before and like it because it is so picturesque.”

The programme produced by Sky will follow a different celebrity each week fishing at venues around the country and is expected to be broadcast in the autumn.
